Rimmel Haul & Reviews

A couple of weeks ago Britain had a spell of gorgeous, hot, sunny weather and it made me realize that I am in desperate need for some sort of finishing/mattifying powder for my combination skin. I wasn't willing to pay a small fortune either, so I began searching at ELF Cosmetics which I was so close to buying until I found out Boots were doing 3 for 2 on pretty much all of the makeup (I also needed a new mascara) AND I had a double points coupon thing. Thumbs up. So Saturday off I drove to Boots...

I ended up buying all Rimmel products, which I normally won't consider but I thought they were nicely cheap for a quick purchase.

Extra Wow Lash Building Mascara, 003 Extreme Black, £5.99 -  The main reason I went for this is because on the back of the tube it stated that it is 'Suitable for sensitive eyes' as my last mascara tended to sting my eyes if I put more than one layer on. Not good. Something I normally do is check the brush type before I buy, this time I forgot but I was very pleased when I got home to find it was just bristles and not the new plastic type.
I tried it the day after purchasing it and loved it straight away, the brush catches every lash, it is super easy to build volume and it doesn't clump!! However I thought it smelt a little strong and weird but my sister showed me her mascara and it has the same funky smell, so I will live with it. At the moment I am definitely thinking that I will repurchase this mascara. Love it and for this price how can you not give it a go.

Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder, 021 Transparent, £3.99 - I am a mineral makeup buff, due to my troublesome skin, so as soon as I saw this I decided to try it especially as it claims it 'Clarifies skin thanks to PureSkin complex' minimizing breakouts and controls shine for up to 5 hours. I confess that before I headed to Boots I had look at reviews of this product and I saw a lot saying that it cakes on around dry patches and goes orange, I have yet to experience this. I would say it that it does mattify my skin without looking caked on which I am super happy about. I have only had it a few days so can't really tell if it's effecting my skin positively but so far I would say things are looking up.

Last but not least
Powder Blush, 041 Bronze, £3.99 - For the price I thought this product was a little bit small but thanks to the offer I was getting it free (yay). Okay so bought this just to add a little colour to my cheeks and to contour a little but I found that the colour wasn't dark enough to notice, although when I was piling it on to make it visible it didn't cake. I think I would get it again but in a different colour, possibly and peachy colour.
