Products Worth Repurchasing

As a product junkie I love trying new products but I am forever fighting with the idea that I would like to keep my skincare as stable as possible. So I have a few products that I have been repurchasing for a while because I like the way they work with my skin, so I wanted to share some products that I  always have around to use.

Skincare Products:
  • Nivea Q10 Plus Pore Refining Day Cream - I've been using this for what seems like forever, realistically it's been like 3 years. The main reason I bought this is the first place was for the pore refining properties and seen as it's in Nivea's anti wrinkle range I assumed that it would plump up the pores like it would wrinkles. It's light on my skin, doesn't cause any breakouts and I would say it does slightly blur my pores. And now that I'm 22 I'm grateful it's an anti wrinkle cream, I believe the earlier the catch them the easier it is prevent them growing haha. (Little tip: when you've finished a jar I wash it out and peel the label off, it makes a great little glass jar to store jewellery when travelling.)
  • Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser - I'm sure everyone is aware of the popularity of this product by now. I've been using this on/off for at least 5 years, I say on/off because I like try new things but I always end up going back. I always say that I don't realise how much I love this cleanser until I stop using it, yes it'll leave your skin nice and soft and it gives it a good gentle clean straight away but it's not until using it a number of times that you realise your skin loves this cleanser and it starts to calm everything down, redness, blemishes etc.
  • Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It - The packaging on the Soap & Glory skincare has recently been changed on this but I'm still using the old design one as I bought a few late last year when they were on offer. You can  use this as a scrub and as a quick 3 minute mask, I have also been known to add a small amount to my cleanser if I want to make my evening routine quicker. Basically it's an all-round good scrub; the scrubbing particles aren't too harsh on my skin (at one point I was using this every day :/) but are rough enough to make it feel it's exfoliating nicely. It doesn't break me out and it seems to calm my skin down.
  • TRESemme Vitamin C Deep Cleansing Shampoo - To be honest I don't have a lot to say about this, all I want to say is this product is great for getting rid of product build up and it keeps my hair cleaner for longer. I always have a bottle of this ready to use, I'll use this at least one about once a week in between my other shampoo trials.
Makeup Products:
  • Rimmel Stay Matte 01 Transparent - Honestly, maybe I'm just lazy because I don't seem to want to try different finishing powders or maybe it's because this does the job and as the saying goes "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" but I just keep buying this one.
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in True Ivory - I tried this because my little sister recommended it and I wasn't disappointed, it gives a good coverage (even for acne scarring) without looking cakey and it does seem to wake up my eyes. It stays under my eyes more than on my blemishes but for some reason I expect that.
I hope that gives you a brief idea of how these products are and maybe give you the information to help towards finding your go-to products. On that note if you have any product recommendations I'd like to here them…

A Staple To Any Skincare Routine: Micellar Water

I have decided to start with an essential.

I am an advocate for washing off all makeup every night. So much so if I am feeling lazy and use a facial wipe to quickly get rid of the majority of the days makeup I can't sleep, not until I get up and wash my face properly. Call me obsessed but I can't help it. Every morning and night I use Liz Earle's Hot Polish Cleanser, have done for about 5 years on and off and I probably always will have it in my life but that's not why I'm writing this.

The star of this blog post is about Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.

I've been reading and researching about micellar water for a while and had been eyeing up Superdrug's B. Pure Micellar Water for what seemed like weeks but on a random outing to Boots I saw that Garnier had a new one out. It was on offer so I got drawn in and bought it. And I'm thankful that I did.

Using it is easy enough, you could probably use it on it's own to cleanse but I use mine after I've used my Liz Earle. So you just put some on a cotton wool pad and wipe it gently over your face (it's even gentle enough for your eyes) and I found it crazy how much makeup was on the cotton wool pad!! It just seemed to pull all the leftover makeup and impurities off my skin. The first time I used it I even did it again to make sure it wasn't some sort of reaction to make it look like it was working, but nope because this cotton wool pad was clean. As well as making your skin spotlessly clean it says it hydrates too, which I can believe since there's no need to rinse it off. But I put my moisturiser on straight after so I can't really comment, however I can say that it definitely doesn't dry out my skin.

(Remnants of tonights cleanse. Thought it would be good to show you what this product can get out of my skin even after a cleanse, gross but still.)

I've had mine for about 3 months and as the picture shows I've still got about half left, although I do only use this in the evening to double cleanse. Nonetheless I think it'll still be great value if you'd use it twice a day because at £4.99 you can't go wrong. (It's currently £3.99 in Boots).

What's your skincare staple?

Thanks for reading, I am trying now :)

Hello Again.

Hi.

Today has been one of those days. I was sat drinking my morning, wake me up coffee watching Friends when my mum casually strolled through the room and said 'there's more to life than TV' then left. I sat there for a while longer, finished my coffee and didn't think much more of the comment…

Until now, at nearly 1am. Subconsciously I must have been thinking about it most of the day because I ended up getting some stuff done that I had been meaning to do for a while (I am queen of procrastination). Most importantly listing some items on my eBay from when I started sorting out my wardrobe (realise how I started it but didn't finish).

Anyway that brings me on to now. I was finishing up on eBay when I randomly thought of this blog, the blog that I have tried to restart many times but failed. I logged in, had a look around and realised, this is something that I obviously keep wanting to do and something that hasn't gone away. It is only fair that yet again I give this blogging stuff a go. I know that are a lot of other blogs around and a lot that are better than this but it's worth a whole-hearted shot. All I know is that whenever I want to buy a new product I always search for blog reviews about it; no matter how small the blog, it's always nice to read what another human being has experienced and that their thoughts are unfiltered and true to them. So I want to be another small voice on the Internet that could guide another like minded reader to buy or not buy.

I am posting this blog right now so in the morning I don't just leave it as another draft of which this blog  has many.

I will start tomorrow with a proper blog post, not even sure what it will be about yet.
Exciting times x
